Canon Powershot SD450 fallen down while shooting in Darkness, Photo lost, memory card error ?

I am a zoology student and recently got my assignment on Wild Bats. I read about them and have to collect photographs of them for my assignment. I planned to go to the southern Wild Jungle 500 Km from my native town and taken my canon Powershot SD450. The regional people told me that there is a cave and I went their with a tourist guide. I have taken over 50 photos of bats but unfortunately before keeping my camera in bag, I left the camera turned on. During my journey my luggage was roughly moving due to bad roads. When I came home and checked the camera, I found it was off and not getting on due to low battery problem. After charging for an hour I again tried to access photos but “OH JESUS!” I got the Memory Card Error in my camera. I was in big shock because I had spent over 200 dollars in this trip and got this error message. Please tell me how I can get back those pictures from Canon Powershot SD450?

Hi,

Canon Powershot SD450 is a good camera with a 2.5 inch LCD and 5 megapixels lens. Other than that the camera has 3x optical and 4x digital zoom, autofocus and great capacity to take the pictures in absolute no light areas and dark places like cave etc. You have chosen the right camera to go with but the big mistake was that you forget to turn off the camera after its usage and this along with the road shocks made the camera shake and turned off. There are chances that the memory card due to the shock got corrupted or due to the low battery it became corrupted.

Since the memory cards of digital camera are sensitive, wrong usage of these can easily corrupt the data over it and the same is occurred over here. It looks like you can not make the backup either and now your only hope is to use Photo Recovery applications. Since you have the Canon Powershot SD450, the Canon Photo Recovery will be the most suitable software for you. When it runs, it will scan the memory card which you have to connect to your computer via data cable or card reader. It will also show you the preview of the recovered images after scanning and then you can store the recovered pictures on the hard drives or over other media.
